  • Explore Fort Baker

    If you're looking for an outdoor adventure with amazing views of the bay, city, Alcatraz, Angel Island, and my personal favorite of the Golden Gate Bridge, then this is a phenomenal place to explore. Walk around the Horseshoe Cove. The walk towards the bridge will take you towards the Lime Point Historic Lighthouse, and if you venture the other way, you’ll find the Presidio Yacht Club, Travis Marina Bar, Point Cavallo with the best view of the city, and Battery Yates where you can find out how the US planned to protect the bay. There’s an expansive field for activities or a picnic. Not a bad place for refreshments, snacks, and tossing a frisbee. You’re about 2 miles from Sausalito, so you can walk, bike, or drive into the waterside town. Tip: Make sure to bring a sweatshirt. The wind really picks up. Show More

    Travis Marina Bar is one of the best kept secrets right outside the city that's right on the water and has an incredible view of the Golden Gate Bridge. It's a laidback place that offers burgers and pizzas, reasonably priced drinks, and they bring in bands.
