An absolute gem and possibly the best bar in San Jose. This below-ground speakeasy makes the best drinks from scratch and all of the people working wear 20's attire. You don't even need to know what you want to drink, just tell the bartenders how you feel or how you want to feel, and you'll get a drink with fresh ingredients that's pounded, strained, shaken, etc. to get exactly that feeling. Inside is a lounge with velvety banquettes and never overcrowded, making for a great experience.
There's typically a line outside, but worth the wait. You can beat this line on Friday and Saturday by making reservations a day ahead of time (highly recommended).
